- 7:30 AM: Light Breakfast & Coffee
- 8:00 AM: “I’ll Lead You This Time Boys! The Battle of Hunterstown”. Presented by Licensed Battlefield Guide, Jim Hessler. On the afternoon of July 2, 1863, elements of Union General Judson Kilpatrick’s cavalry division collided with General Wade Hampton’s Confederate cavalry brigade near the small crossroads village of Hunterstown. Although the second day’s battle at Gettysburg overshadows this action, this spirited fight included sabre charges, artillery, and the near-death of recently promoted General George Armstrong Custer. One of the Gettysburg campaign’s most overlooked battlefields can lead to asking: Was this an isolated encounter, or did it have more significant implications on the Gettysburg battle?
- 10:30 AM: “East of Rock Creek” Presented by Honorary Licensed Battlefield Guide, Dean Shultz. The mysterious Wolf’s Hill, Confederate positions, creek crossings, the “Lost” Avenue, the Union right flank, McAllister’s Mill (an underground RR site) are areas which are adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park, east of Rock Creek. Their importance and relationships are often overlooked.
- 12:00 PM: Lunch at the Hilton Garden Inn
- 1:00 PM: “West of Willoughby Run & The Fight for the Harmon Farm” Presented by, Licensed Battlefield Guide Chris Army. This segment will explore the actions associated with the Harmon Farm, west of Willoughby Run on July 1. The history of the Harmon farm, fighting in this area, and the location and history of the Katalysine Springs Hotel located on the farm property will all be examined.
- 3:00 PM: “The Action At the Bliss Farm: Or Making a Molehill Out of A Mountain?” Licensed Battlefield Guide Jim Hueting. For over 150 years the actions at the Bliss Farm have been relegated to a molehill. It never involved more than a few companies at a time. But its effect on the events on the afternoon of July 2nd is mountainous, thus why it is often overlooked?
