The American Civil War Museum complex hosts many educational and entertaining events throughout the year. Various authors, historians, living history groups and musical guests appear at the museum annually. It is our goal to enrich guests’ visits through special programming, performances, and a variety of unique presentations.
Special events in recent years include:
- A special presentation by Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House.
- Book signings by authors such as New York Times bestseller Jeff Shaara.
- Live performances by a variety of Civil War era bands such as the Coburn Brass Band in conjunction with the Annual Gettysburg Brass Band Festival.
- Guest appearances by nationally recognized artists including Andrew Chernak, Francis Barnum, and Bradley Schmehl during the annual History Meets the Arts.
- Live Nativity during the Holiday season in early December.
In addition to these unique events, every weekend from April until November, the American Civil War Museum offers interactive Living History encampments with Civil War era re-enactors. There any many other special programs taking place year round. Don’t forget to mark you calendar and join our email list to learn about all our exciting events!
