The Heritage of a town
The Gettysburg Heritage Center offers a new and unique look at the Battle of Gettysburg. Visitors will discover what life was like for the civilians living in the town before, during and after the battle. Utilizing artifacts, historical documents, interactive displays and 3-D programs, learn how ordinary people did extraordinary things in a time of crisis. Explore the town on the eve of the battle, and see how the civilians reacted to the conflict.
The tour of the Heritage Center concludes with the movie "Gettysburg: An Animated Map". Presented in conjunction with the Civil War Trust, the program takes an in-depth look at the three day battle, including the aftermath and the dedication of Soldiers' National Cemetery.
