Gettysburg, PA – Come be a part of history at the American Civil War Museum over the 4th of July weekend! The Civil War Heritage Foundation will present a living history encampment on the front lawn of the museum complex July 3 & 4 from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., and July 5 from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The foundation, comprised of generals from both the northern and southern armies, will be set up on the front lawn of the Gift Center complex and will offer informative talks and discussions about significant personalities, battle campaigns, and life during the Civil War. In the evenings, members of the group will provide music. Special presentations will take place continuously throughout the weekend under the special events tent.
Chaplain Rene Kinard and his wife Rommie will offer a Civil War era church service on the front lawn of the museum complex Sunday morning at 10 a.m. The service is non-denominational and open to the public. It will be a peaceful service full of music, singing and uplifting messages.
The living history encampment and special presentations are suitable for the entire family and free and open to the public. Free parking is available on site at the museum complex.
